The Problem with this WIP

I think I've found the problem. I've done very little research and I have no GMC. I guess I should probably slow down and get my ducks in a row before I try to keep going. Otherwise this won't go anywhere and I'll be stuck with another unfinished WIP. Ok. Back to the drawing board.

2014 & Faith

Time to get back to it. It seems when I was writing blog posts every day or every other day at least I was writing. Now, not so much.

2013 Ended with a horrible bang (and not the good horrible). My dad who has been by dad since I was 16 years old, was killed in a car accident. We buried him 2 days before Christmas. I spent New Year's with my family trying to find a way to live with knowing we'd never see him again. So, yeah, 2013 can just bite it.

2014 doesn't look to pick up anytime soon. My mother-in-law is very sick and we spend a lot of time worrying about her. And I constantly worry that my own mother will be ok. I'm trying to leave it all in the hands of God, but it's not always easy to put aside those worries and just have faith. Of course, worrying doesn't make it any better either.

And my writing has suffered. I can't seem to concentrate and nothing comes out right. Again, I need to have faith. This time in myself.

So, I'm going to take 2014 by the horns and hold on for dear life. I'm not making any "resolutions" but I'm going to try my best to at least get things back in order. Wish me luck.

It's Been a While

Wow. It's been quite a while since my last post. Hmmm...I really need to make time to post more often.

Let's see. What's happened in the past 8 or 9 months? My job is going really well. I've been super busy and loving every minute of it.

JAM, KAM & the kids were transferred to North Carolina & I really miss them. They had moved in with us for a few months while they waited for housing. It was noisy & crowded, but we all muddled through. I can't wait to go visit them and see my babies again.

I still have all my other babies, though. Z is growing like crazy and he's such a good little boy. So sweet. HNM is gonna have another baby in September so there will be even more to love. And her boyfriend's daughter S is a cutie. Our family will soon outgrow our house. Thanksgiving dinner here last year was fun, but crowded. But I loved doing it and it will now be a tradition. Thanksgiving dinner will always be at our house.

My writing isn't doing so great these days. I've worked on Rebel Union and worked on it and worked on it, but I never seemed to get anywhere. Jack refuses to talk to me and I can't seem to get past the first couple of chapters in edits. Nothing seems to be working.

MCRW's retreat is next weekend and I'm hoping I can get some real writing done. I'm thinking of starting something new and letting Rebel Union sit for awhile. Maybe I'll go back to it later and Jack will finally be ready to open up. Until then I really need to get something else going. Especially if I want to go to nationals in July. Atlanta is so close I can't NOT go. But I need to have a finished MS or I'll feel like I'm wasting all that money.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. Hopefully it won't take so long for me to post again. :-)

July 12, 2012

Last night I went out with friends to see Magic Mike, the "stripper" movie for women. It was totally awesome! The storyline was not well written, and there were a few times when I wanted to smack someone to try and improve their acting ability. But the movie was totally awesome!

Why, you ask? Ummm...have you seen the previews, or the movie posters, or stalked the internet looking for pics of these hotties? Yep. That's why!

Matthew McConaughey, Channing Tatum and the rest of the "male dance revue" were really easy on the eyes. Did I mention eye-candy? Yep. Definitely eye-candy.

Hmmm...it just got a little hot in here. *whew*

Vacation

Wow. It's been awhile since I posted. Been busy working & living life. My husband and I are on vacation this week. We drove up to Munfordville, KY to spend a little time with his dad & stepmom. She works for the county extension office and handles the county fair every year. So we helped out by judging a kid's pet contest (lots of fun), a fried pie contest (Yum!!) and working the concession stand (not really work). I enjoyed myself and always love spending time with them. We're back home now and getting ready to keep the grandkids for the weekend before we head back to work on Monday morning. This may not be everyone's idea of a vacation, but we've really enjoyed ourselves. What kinds of things do you do when you have a few days off work?
